Biography My name is Dechen Dolka and I am ten years old. I was born in the small village of Basura in Nepal where my parent settled after leaving Tibet. My father died when I was four years old. I have two older sisters and two older brothers. My mother words as a field worker for a rich Nepalese landowner. She earns very little money and could not feed us all, so as I was the youngest she sent me to BCH where I could be fed and taught at school. I arrived at BCH in March 2006, but to start with I missed my family and feel uncomfortable in such a big place with modern facilities. Now I am happier and I have made some new friends, who look after me. At school I like reading books and learning English
